1940 Chevrolet Sedan “Copperhead”

Copperhead is a fully custom 1940 Chevrolet Sedan built from the ground up by Griffin Automotive Design. Powered by a 6.2L Chevrolet LS engine with FAST fuel injection, the build combines modern performance and drivability with extensive custom fabrication while maintaining the unmistakable character of the original Chevrolet.

The body was heavily reworked throughout the build. The fenders were widened and stretched, wheel openings raised and reshaped, and the factory body lines smoothed and modified to create a lower, more refined profile. Custom fabrication includes the hood, bumpers, tail panel, front air dam, and headlight buckets with frenched lamps. The exterior was finished in a one-of-a-kind custom-mixed Sikkens color that gives Copperhead its signature appearance.

Underneath is a custom round-tube chassis with polished and enhanced C4 Corvette suspension, QA1 coilovers, a custom anti-roll bar system, and Wilwood disc brakes. Forgeline wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport N4 tires complete the stance.

Inside, Old Ranch and Rich Clay distressed leather from Relicate gives the interior a rich, classic finish. Modern touches include Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air climate control, push-button start, and a Powertrain Control Solutions paddle-shift and push-button shifting system.

From the reshaped body and custom chassis to the interior, drivetrain, and final finish, Copperhead was built as a complete one-off — a 1940 Chevrolet reimagined from the ground up.
