Built for 1,000 HP
Charlie’s 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle restomod is currently undergoing a complete rebuild at Griffin Automotive Design. The finished car will combine extensive custom fabrication with a high-performance drivetrain and modern components throughout.
At the heart of the build will be a Wegner Performance supercharged LS engine producing approximately 1,000 horsepower. A BHP90 transmission will handle the power and complete the high-performance drivetrain.
In addition, the exhaust system will feature ZyCoat thermal coating. This will help manage heat while providing a durable finish for the exhaust components.
All-New Sheet Metal & Custom Bodywork
The Chevelle is currently in the restoration and fabrication stages. As part of the process, the body will receive all-new sheet metal. This will create a fresh foundation for the extensive custom work planned throughout the car.
Both the front and rear will feature custom-fabricated bumpers designed specifically for this build. Up front, a custom splitter will create a lower and more aggressive profile. Meanwhile, the rear bumper will incorporate a custom diffuser for a modern performance-inspired appearance.
In addition, a custom side arrow will be incorporated into the bodywork. Together, these modifications will sharpen the Chevelle’s appearance while preserving its iconic 1970 body lines.
Performance & Braking
With this level of power, the Chevelle will also need capable supporting components. Therefore, a Wildwood brake system will provide modern stopping performance to complement the 1,000-horsepower drivetrain.
As the project progresses, additional performance components will bring the complete package together.
