Larry’s 1968 Camaro is being completely reimagined with modern performance, custom fabrication, and updated styling throughout. While the classic first-generation body remains recognizable, nearly every area of the car is being transformed.

A Detroit Speed chassis provides the foundation for the build and brings modern handling to the classic platform. Power will come from a supercharged LT4 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Together, they will give the Camaro the performance to match its aggressive new appearance.

Custom fabrication plays a major role in the exterior design. Up front, we added a custom lower lip that gives the car a more aggressive profile. The design also helps direct additional airflow into the engine bay. A handmade aluminum front bumper is being formed in-house using a Baileigh power hammer. This allows the bumper to follow the body lines of the Camaro rather than looking like an added-on piece.

The rear of the car received just as much attention. We modified the rear bumper to tuck tightly into the quarter panels for a cleaner appearance. A custom lower lip was also fabricated to complement the front and bring the exterior design together.

The modernization continues inside the Camaro. We are adapting a sixth-generation Camaro ZL1 interior to fit the 1968 body. This will bring modern comfort and styling into the cabin while creating something completely unique to the car.

The finished Camaro will wear a metallic orange paint color with racing stripes running down the center. The bold finish will highlight both the original body lines and the custom changes made throughout the car.

From its LT4 and six-speed drivetrain to its hand-fabricated bodywork and ZL1 interior, every part of Larry’s Camaro has a purpose. The result will be a 1968 Camaro that looks unmistakably classic while delivering an entirely modern experience.
